For us, sustainability starts in our everyday lives. Through many small decisions, the use of local products, and a mindful approach to resources, we take responsibility—step by step and wherever it makes sense. For a stay that combines enjoyment and relaxation with respect for our mountain environment.

Our Commitment Has Been Recognized

We are delighted that our commitment has been recognized in two ways:
with the ibex fairstay silver award and Swisstainable Level III – leading.

ibex fairstay takes a holistic approach to sustainability—from ecology and regional focus to community engagement and responsible business management. We are particularly pleased to have received an “excellent” rating in management and social responsibility, as well as a “very good” rating in regional focus.

These awards confirm much of what we already practice today. At the same time, they show us where we can continue to improve. After all, for us, too, sustainability is a journey we continue to take one step at a time.

Regional Products

Whenever possible, we work with producers and suppliers from Zermatt, the Valais, and Switzerland. Especially when it comes to breakfast, we prioritize regional sourcing, short transportation distances, and products that reflect our mountain region. In this way, we support local businesses and bring a taste of the Valais to the breakfast table.

Green Choice

You decide whether you’d like your room cleaned daily. With our Green Choice option, you can opt out of daily room cleaning and linen changes. Of course, we’ll check your room regularly and restock whatever is needed. This way, we can save water, energy, and cleaning supplies together.

Your own slippers instead of disposable products

We have made a conscious decision not to provide disposable slippers in the rooms. Feel free to bring your own slippers. If you don’t have any, you can purchase our Bellerive cork flip-flops at the front desk for CHF 5.– at cost. This helps us avoid unnecessary waste and reduce the use of single-use products.

From Breakfast to a Snack

Any food from the breakfast buffet that wasn't used but is still perfectly edible gets a second chance here. We use it to make fresh sandwiches and small snacks, which we offer to our guests free of charge. This way, we avoid food waste and put good food to good use.
