Arriving by train

Travel stress-free and in comfort by taking the train to Visp, where you will change to the Matterhorn Gotthard train to the car-free village of Zermatt. Trains depart every half an hour. The terminus of the famous "Glacier Express" is Bahnhofplatz Zermatt. If you are travelling by plane, take the train at the airport to Zermatt via Visp from Zurich-Kloten in about 3.5 hours or from Geneva-Cointrin in around 4 hours (provide a change at Visp). Alternatively, you can take a taxi or helicopter (Air Zermatt).

Arriving by car

Zermatt is car-free. Private transport access is only allowed up to Täsch (5 km from Zermatt). The Täsch-Zermatt road is closed to public traffic. From Täsch, you can take the train or use the taxi service. The Täsch-Zermatt shuttle runs every 20 minutes. The journey lasts 12 minutes.

You can park your car in the car park at the Matterhorn Terminal station in Täsch or at one of the private taxi services and travel in comfort by taxi to the entrance of Zermatt.
